A message from Lisa:
I started with plans of selling the HM Saddles line, designed by Heather Moffett creator of Enlightened Equitation, as I was completing my training to be the first USA based Enlightened Equitation certified teacher. I have since been certified in Level 2.
The tack and other items started with a chance meeting of Rishabh Sharma at a HM Saddles saddle fit course in Northern England in February of 2015. We then traveled together to Heather Moffett’s East Leigh Farm in the Devon area of England. We discussed Rish’s beautiful tack and how to bring it to the US. I imported my first order later that year. I added my first sponsored rider soon after my first order arriving. Katy Groesbeck, an eventing rider, has been a good friend for many years so it was a natural addition.
Local tack sales, smaller horse expos and being a vendor at horse shows followed.
I made a trip to visit the manufacturing factory in November of 2017. I was able to see the lovely facility, meet the workers and work on designs. I continue to be involved in product design, along with consultation with Katy, and another trip is in the works for 2019. Additional tack items and now half chaps, purses and bags have been added. We are constantly working on new designs and coming up with new ideas.
Bigger expos and being a vendor at bigger horse shows are among the many plans for 2018, including being a vendor at the Western States Horse Expo in California, an expo I attended as a spectator for about 15 of the 19 previous years it has been held. I will also be at Rebecca Farm in July.
Since I have no store front and no employees, I am able to keep prices very affordable in comparison to the high quality of the tack. Rish trained in Walsall, England.
